Some Acosy HQ chat this afternoon got me thinking, how do you use reviews?
I have found myself actively seeking out reviews, from what pasta sauce to chuck on the kids’ tea to the next big white goods purchase, the reviews can really influence my decision. Maggie and I got chatting and realised that it went even further than seeking out the Amazon and Trustpilot reviews we also seek out views and recommendations from friends and family for tv, film, music, experiences, gifts – the list kept growing and growing!
I like reviews and I think generally they are considered a trustworthy personal experience, perhaps with a pinch of salt for some as you can’t please everyone! I set off to do a bit of research and was surprised at some of the findings:
· 93% of people say online reviews impact their buying decision (https://www.podium.com/resources/podium-state-of-online-reviews/)
· Fake reviews are a thing! The big online companies like google, Facebook, eBay have been told by UK government to crack down on fake reviews.
Since owning my own small online business - receiving reviews has been a powerful tool not just for the next potential customer but also for myself as a business owner.
Below are genuine reviews from customers & can be found online on Amazon, eBay, Etsy, social media & google reviews.
5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for adult with epilepsy

After my (adult) son fell out of bed several times during seizures, frequently becoming trapped between the bed and wall, I considered purchasing a bed rail. However, I saw this soft bed guard and thought it would be worth trying as it was far less restrictive. I'm so glad I did as it has been absolutely brilliant - no falls since I introduced it. It sits on top of the mattress under the fitted sheet and does not move at all during the night. My son who has autism, epilepsy and a severe learning disability still has plenty of room in his double bed and can get in and out with no problem but the guard is just high enough to prevent him rolling out during a seizure, even a violent one. Would definitely recommend to others with similar conditions as an alternative to a bed rail."
The Gadget Man
4.0 out of 5 stars Great item, works as it should, however a removable washable cover would be nice.

"Purchased this item for a family member who suffers seizures.
Was a bit puzzled when it arrived as no straps or fixings are provided. The item is a large shaped piece of foam with 2 flat sides and one curved side. If you place this on the bed flatside down with the curve facing the bed. You can use a large flatsheet tucked in to secure the guard in place.
After several months of use can say that it really works, it has saved the person from falling out of bed on loads of occasions.
Overall a fantastic product, however the lack of fixings or even a washable removable cover means will have to give 4 stars rather than the 5 stars.
Have looked for a removable cover and have yet to find one."
A great example of how we listened to our customer.... we now have covers for our bumpers!!
5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant!

Absolutely brilliant! So easy to fit - best to try a large 'flat' sheet if you can't fit it under the fitted one. Certainly won't fall out of bed again!!
Highly recommended for old chaps who have bad dreams and roll around in bed."
5.0 out of 5 stars The bed bumper did its job and prevented my mam from falling out of bed again.

I got this bed bumper because my 79 year old mam fell out of bed the second time and broke part of her foot and didn't want it happening again and could be more worse if she did it again. I bought a extra fitted sheet and it as prevented her from falling out and done its job."

"Worked beautifully - kept my 5 years old nephew safe and sound at night on a quite high bed. I placed the bumper under the fitted sheet, it didn't move a bit, stayed in place like it was glued to the mattress :-)
